Tod Himmel and Dan Michaels, the co-owners of Gino’s East first L.A. foray, come from the entertainment industry themselves. Himmel is a successful TV writer and producer and Michaels is a radio veteran. “It’s no coincidence we found a spot close enough to feed every studio in the valley,” said Himmel. “I wanted to create something that couldn’t be ruined by network notes, yet all my friends stuck in a rewrite because of network notes could enjoy.”
